Vista sucks, it doesn’t suck, wait a minute, it does. This is a never ending cycle and we may never come to an agreement. There will always be someone who doesn’t like it and there will always be someone who does.

Vista has received a less than lukewarm reception by the masses. One would think that Intel would adopt Microsoft’s latest operating system for its own operations. This has not happened and is likely to never happen.

If you have been disappointed with Vista’s performance on your brand new dual or quad-core PC then this may help. The default settings for Vista have it boot using just one processor core. Using both or all four cores may help speed things along.

Would you believe that Windows Vista may now be as reliable as XP was or still is? I didn’t think so. My experience with Vista has been one of reliability when preinstalled by an OEM but this is not the majority consensus.

All of us should be aware by now that the last day to get the OEM XP option is approaching fast, just two weeks remain. As a result, manufacturers that offered free XP downgrade options are starting to cancel that option and Dell is one of them.

Vista has enough of its own problems without having to concern users with third party software issues, yet, they do exist. Symantec made a partial admission that its SymProtect feature was responsible for registry corruption during both Windows XP SP3 and Vista SP1 upgrades. The company recently delivered a software utility to locate and repair these registry problems.

This isn’t new, this has been said before but it’s not exactly clear what Windows 7 will shape up to be when it finally ships. If you are to believe what Microsoft has said that it will "be available three years after the general availability of Vista" then that translates to a late 2009 or early 2010 release. So soon? The only way it could accomplish that is if it is basically Vista (and it is) with little changes.

Yes you read it right, Microsoft is telling people to upgrade to Vista now instead of waiting for Windows 7 because it would help ‘ease’ their way into Windows 7 down the line. What I want to ask is, easier for who the businesses or Microsoft?

Microsoft wants us all to believe that Windows 7 will be like the second coming but the fact is that it won’t, Vista was supposed to be that and the company failed. It says consumers should upgrade to Vista because it’s more or less the same as Vista which may be the first true thing Redmond has said.

Is this a case of sacrificing one offspring over another? It sure seems that way, with Microsoft pointing out XP’s flaws in order to make Vista look light years better. However, some believe these XP “flaws” are actually inaccurate.
