Microsoft has ported Windows Phone 7’s tiles to Xbox LIVE as well as a host of new interactive features. The latest software upgrade allows you to use voice commands to find your favorite shows, pause them while you take a break and even save them to be shown using a different console.

Microsoft wrapped up its E3 press conference earlier this week and as rumored the company is rolling out the foundation for some sort of IPTV service. The details aren’t clear yet but it appears that Microsoft has big ambitions for the Xbox 360 console.

Microsoft just came off a successful third quarter due to great Kinect and Office sales. In addition, Bing has been gaining some traction in the U.S. with it now accounting nearly 30 percent of the searches. It appears to be good news all around for Microsoft. However, despite the growth in its search market share, Bing has been burning a hole in Microsoft’s pocket.

Bloomberg BusinessWeek recently sponsored an event with Paul Allen, co-founder of Microsoft at the 92nd Street Y in New York last evening. Allen indicated that Microsoft will need to “accelerate” its product development to compete with other companies.
