Yet again, Microsoft is receiving criticism for its latest marketing push, but not from consumers who don’t understand what they mean like with the Bill Gates, Seinfeld series. It seems the use of the “No Walls” subtext used in the newest commercials violate trademarks set forth by OS-startup “G.ho.st.” Or does it?

Windows Vista is a large operating system, there’s no denying it. With so many services and processes running in the background, even a system with more than sufficient memory can become bogged down quickly. Vista consumes 32MBs of graphics memory alone, while the many included services take up nearly 512MBs on average, leaving little room for performance- especially on slower machines with little memory.

There’s long been a complaint from Vista users in regards to always having to enter an email password when sending or receiving messages in Outlook 2007 and Windows Mail. While the problem exists in Windows XP as well, it seems to be easier to remedy with a quick settings-change in Outlook, but the same fix in Vista doesn’t always work.

Remote desktop is a great feature in Windows. Whether you need to connect to another computer in your network, or connect to your computer from anywhere there’s an internet connection, it’s an excellent alternative to more complicated remote connection methods. Turning on and configuring remote desktop is a lot easier than many people think, mainly because Vista takes care of the more complicated security measures for you.

Not that Microsoft needs any more bad press, but a recently completed study indicates that the latest version of Internet Explorer, or IE8, actually consumes more RAM than all of the Windows XP operating system combined. Not only is Internet Explorer getting "fatter" with every so-called "newer" version, but it’s also becoming more resource intensive than ever.

In an effort to enhance Vista rather than change it completely, PC makers are introducing their own brand of proprietary software to make things easier on the user.

If you’re like me, you probably like your computer to run as fast and efficiently as possible. One of the main ways to do this is to stop any unwanted processes from working behind the scenes and eating up your system’s resources. You’ve most likely already gone through Windows Task Manager to stop unneeded processes, but what about that pesky "ctfmon.exe" that never seems to go away.

Some people, like myself, might not know that there’s a better way to transfer CDs and DVDs across the internet, rather than the traditional method of burning ISO images. By using some free software, which acts as a virtual drive on your PC, you can mount an ISO image to run much faster and efficiently.
