Microsoft Office 365 suffers outage – offers credit Office 365, Microsoft’s answer to Google Apps, suffered an outage this week that interrupted access to the service. According to reports Microsoft is working to rectify the issue by offering credit to compensate for the outage.

Last Wednesday, many users were unable to access some of the services available in the Microsoft Office 365 suite and SkyDrive product. Microsoft sent out a notification to all of its customers explaining what happened.

As reported by ZDNet, Microsoft revealed that the three hour outage was caused by a network interruption in one of Microsoft’s North America data centers.

Microsoft stated that the company is investigating the root cause of the issue as well as continue to monitor the data center’s network. The company also stated that it will compensate for the outage by offering a 25 percent credit on the customer’s monthly invoice.

While the outage wasn’t significant, it probably ruffled some feathers as it occurred during core business hours when email usage is at its peak for most companies.
