Internet Explorer users are retarded

If you use Internet Explorer then you’re not all that intelligent. And the older the version of Internet Explorer you use the thicker you become. The 10.7 percent of the world which still uses IE6 is retarded, or at least very close to being so. OK, so they’re actually “borderline intellectual functioning,” but that doesn’t make for anything near as good a headline.
This is according to a recent study by Vancouver-based psychometric consulting company, AptiQuant [PDF link]. According to Technolog the company polled 100,000 people who all took an IQ (Intelligence Quotient) test and registered which browser and operating system they used.
Internet Explorer 6 came bottom of the list, with its users registering an IQ of just over 80. IE7, IE9, and IE8 proceeded in that order, still registering an average of just over 90. Users of Firefox, Chrome, and Safari have an average of around 110, while IE with Chrome frame, Camino, and Opera were all above 120, which is classed as Above Average intelligence.
This does actually make perfect sense. Internet Explorer is the default Web browser on new PCs, and those who don’t explore other options are likely to have less up top than those who do. And IE6 is a 10-year-old browser which even Microsoft itself has on multiple occasions tried to get people to move onwards and upwards from. So those who are still using it, complete with its security limitations, are likely to be a little dumb.
Before any of you start writing explicit missives to Blorge complaining of my use of the word ‘retarded’, it’s a legitimate medical term. And if your IQ is anything below 70 then technically you’re retarded. I’m sorry, but that’s just a fact. How is IE6 working for you, by the way?

It’s not that they are retarded but it’s because they required to do so. Either because their company requires them or because country where they live their OS is all they got with no internet connection. So what is retarded is not people who use IE6 but their circumstances, pretty common sense you know.

retarded doesn’t mean stupid. Using it as a slur continues the marginalization of people with disabilities. Time to change to language that doesn’t offend the most vulnerable among us. Yes, they get it and know when you are mocking them even if you didn’t mean to.

You cant possibly be this dense can you? The company who conducted the survey only started doing this it after they had difficulty with IE6 and IE7, so they are both very stupid and very biased. IE9 is on par with Firefox already, minus the add-ons.

Interesting.
But with this is the same problem as is with any statistical “evidence”, where one can make any argument fit to any point of view one wishes using selective relationship.
Perhaps one should use the same method and check this firm’s IQ – result may point to lower IQ.

I switched to Firefox in late 2003 , and never came back , recently i adapted chrome as it got better, i go between both for different websites and purposes (development for once) , i even have opera just for checking purposes
