SideSlide freeware desktop extension for Vista The larger displays get the more space we have.  The more space we have the more it gets filled up.  Before you know it, you have two 24-inch displays running and are filling every possible pixel with something.

Or maybe that’s just me?  Even if you’re not, it might still be nice to extend the usefulness of your desktop.  That’s where NorthGlide software comes in with SideSlide.  SideSlide allows you to move applications around, off to the side, make notes and other cool stuff all inside the SideSlide application “container.”

You can move items outside of the container as well.  From the developer:

SideSlide is an advanced, portable, unobtrusive, dockable, skinnable, instantly accessible, highly configurable Desktop Extension on Steroids! Clean desktop clutter and make your computer friendlier and faster than ever before. With unique use of containers and various innovative features, SideSlide lets you get instant access to everything you have and much more. The program respects your system and keeps all of its configuration files in a single folder.

In addition, SideSlide can be used from a USB drive, so you can take it with you no matter the computer you are using.  Think of SideSlide as the Vista SideBar on steroids and much more useful.

There’s even a demo video on the Web site which for some strange reason lacks any kind of audio description.  Not that it’s necessary but I don’t really care for watching videos without some kind of audio.

Haha, its not just you!!! The thing I hate most about traveling for work is being confined to the 17″ display on this Dell 9400. I truly have a hard time being really productive without my dual 2407WFP’s!
