The Feds keep eyes fixed on Microsoft Windows 7 development
As Microsoft resides in the transitional phase between Windows Vista and Windows 7, the government doesn’t plan on letting pressure off the software giant. With anti-trust violations a serious concern as development of Windows 7 continues, the government is making sure Microsoft doesn’t try to pull any swift ones on the industry.
Ever since technology rolled into the 21st century, developers have complained that Microsoft has purposefully violated antitrust agreements by designing Windows code to default to Microsoft-specific programs instead of 3rd party developers, according to DailyTech. The U.S. government’s Department of Justice Technical Committee stepped in to oversee product development in 2004.
Due to complaints by companies like Google and others, the TC has essentially set up shop at Microsoft. Currently, Microsoft has agreed to another 2 years of review, which means Windows 7 will be kept under close watch during its design phase.
With things quickly turning for worse on Vista, development of Windows 7 can’t possibly go smoothly, as the TC is monitoring detailed coding to ensure that Microsoft doesn’t “accidentally” violate any antitrust agreements. The pressure is already on to release Windows 7 quickly, and having big brother looming over your shoulder can’t be the easiest situation to work under.
That means, in the nutshell, the cards are stacked against Microsoft to pull off any glorious followup to Vista. Then again, with one of the best developer teams on the planet, I wouldn’t expect anything less.

Your article on Windows Vista and Windows 7 is pathetic and not at all well researched. In fact all your articles on Windows Vista carry a bias of negativity for a very weak reason. Windows Vista isn’t doing bad at all. You don’t even have to compare the amount of profits it has made to Windows XP, they are already higher, but instead compare the amount of compatibility issues it comes with. Have people forgotten the horrid compatibility issues we had with XP when it came out? The fact is that people LOVE to hate vista, and half of them have no idea what they’re talking about. Vista is more secure, more stable and over all a better operating system than Windows XP was when it was first released. Mass issues that come from changing over from XP to Vista only apply to large corporations that have large amounts of money on the line, as opposed to average consumers. Apple’s aggressive sales driven commercials that only talk about how bad Windows Vista is and never really even highlight the good and bad of their OS are cheesy and getting old. The Microsoft Windows OS division has the immense responsibility of creating an operating system that will promise to work on every god forsaken piece of crap or good quality hardware out there in the world. Now that is one hell of a task to accomplish. I’d like to see apple try that. They already get all wound up over the X86 guys trying to successfully modify and install OS X Leopard on non-apple based hardware. If that doesn’t open your eyes maybe this will:
If you buy a new HP laptop that comes pre-installed with Windows Vista, and then you hook up an HP USB camera to that computer and it does not work because driver compatibility issues, who’s fault is that? Not Microsoft, but HP. If HP can’t make their own camera work with their own computer, this is a sad situation….And the same applies to all other PC manufacturers out there that were too lazy and slow to get their product drivers out on time for the Windows team to secure sign them and have them ready at the time of release.
I DO still agree with Windows Vista Basic, which is basically half an OS trying to run on less than capable hardware, Microsoft needs to get rid of it for good.
Anyway, I hope you consider researching your topics a little bit more before you go off ranting about how bad Windows Vista is, have a good one.

You see? Do you see mr vista blorge man? Im not the only who is smart enough to know that Vista is actually a really good OS. I mean this guy raised the same issues I’ve raised before. That is, they have to program windows to be compatible with all these crap old computers, and new ones too, while apple is so lazy, they only allow there crap OS to be on there own computers, because they’re too lazy and cheap to program for all these different computer brands with all these hardware possibilities.
Apple is for nerds, loosers, and stupid people. Average, normal, cool, and smart people choose windows, because it clearly is the better option.
