Microsoft re-releases misunderstood Vista features document
By Jonathan Schlaffer
Not even a week ago it was reported that Microsoft released a document which listed and explained five of Vista’s most understood features. The document was pulled shortly after being posted leaving many to wonder what as going on.
Did Microsoft actually want the document posted? Was there a conspiracy theory? Was it backtracking again? All the above is not the case.
Microsoft sent us an email saying there were some technical errors in the document that needed to be corrected and it would be posted again as soon as the errors were corrected. True to its word, the company has made the "Five Misunderstood Features in Windows Vista" available again (PDF warning).
The very first thing in the article is an explanation of UAC (User Account Control) and why it works the way it does and the reasons everyone should be using it.
Other sections include explanations of Image management, the display driver model, Windows search and the 64-bit architecture (for 64-bit Vista).
It turns out that the company actually does want us to understand Vista but with Windows 7 just around the corner, I don’t think its going to change the overall opinion of Vista.
