Vista makes its way onto the iPhone
By Mike Ferro
Do you love your Vista? Do you love it so much that you want to view its glorious display everywhere you go? Well now you can with the latest VistaPerfection 2.0, which lets you reskin your iPhone to simulate the Vista desktop.
Cnet is reporting this little nifty application hack’s the iPhone UI with over 90 different vista icons, sound effects, sliders and wallpapers. Just about everything you would need to make your UI look and feel like Vista, of course without the functionality.
The sidebar has also been re-skinned to look like the Vista desktop bar as well. Even the shutdown and startup looks like a Vista bootup and shutdown. Clearly the developer of this application has much love for Vista.
It’s curious to see that there is enough demand for the Vista interface that programmers have met it by creating such an application. It’s surprising there is even a demand considering Vista especially of late is considered the ugly red-headed step child of Microsoft, and no one seems to really want to associate with it.
I am curious to see what the Mac advocates have to say about this considering the iPhone is hailed as one of Apple’s highest of achievements. Maybe we will see a Mac OS reskin kit very soon in the near future. This skin was said to be created to accommodate those Microsoft users who are anti-Apple but had to pick up a the latest fashion trend the iPhone. With this hack Microsoft fanboys can feel much more secure about their Microsoft-ness.
If you have tried this application, tell us what your impressions are and if you would recommend it to others as well.
