untitled-11 Just because a hack exists doesn’t mean that it’s okay to exploit.  A lot of sites including Vista.Blorge.com are going to have to eat a bit of crow.  Well, Microsoft, it may not be okay but if you don’t want people exploiting such an obvious exploit then it might behoove the company to patch the exploit in the first place.

Microsoft demotes executives in wake of Vista failure Vista wasn’t right from day one and Microsoft knew it but instead of admitting failure it has decided to blame its executive team for Vista’s failure by firing some or moving some on to mostly "administrative" positions.  After being moved on, some decided just to leave the company outright.

Untitled-5 The Japanese like small things; the smaller, the better.  So, they must already be in love with the Willcom D4 (Sharp manufactured) MID (Mobile Internet Device) tablet “computer.”  I find it difficult to call this thing a computer nor is it just a PDA or simply an Internet access device.  Computer is the best definition that fits it.

Windows 7 to be what Vista was supposed to beMicrosoft is hoping that Windows 7 will allow it to put all the ills, heartaches and feelings of anger that Vista brought to its current customers.  Windows 7 is set to replace Vista in the late 2009 to early 2010 timeframe.  The question remains what will be in store for those that "upgrade" from Vista to Windows 7.

Rumors of Windows 7 going modular leaves bad tastes in consumers’ mouthsIt seems as though the online community is uniting under one particular thought: with Vista faltering in the marketplace, many are simply waiting for news of the operating system that will take Vista’s place, now being called Windows 7.  However, many are even less excited about Windows 7, because some are suggesting that Microsoft will take a modular approach to the distribution of its next operating system to consumers.

Microsoft admits Vista's UAC was designed to 'annoy users' From the test versions of Longhorn (Vista’s development name) to the beta and RC (release candidate) versions of Vista, there was one nagging problem that many reviews cited; Vista’s UAC function.  UAC (User Account Controls) is a feature in Vista designed to limit program’s access to the rest of the system and by default, software will not have administrator level access to the entire system.

Microsoft says Gates misspoke about Windows 7, still slated for 2010 All of us age and as we do might say things that don’t make sense or nothing at all and that may have been the case here.  Bill Gates said a few days ago that Windows 7 would be ready by 2009.  Microsoft is saying that’s not the case and Windows 7 won’t be ready in its final version any earlier than 2010.

Surprise, surprise - Windows XP SP3 runs faster than Vista SP1I’m still not sure whether I should even classify this as news, per se, but take it as you will: if you’re sitting in front of an operating system-less PC, holding a copy of Vista SP1 in your right hand and a copy of XP SP3 in your left, and you can’t decide which OS to go with, your now barren PC will run better with XP SP3.

Bill Gates says Windows 7 replacing Vista next year Windows Vista users salvation may be at hand.  If you can’t wait to dump Vista for something better you can either go back to XP or stick with it until Microsoft unleashes Windows 7.  Bill Gates seems to believe that Windows 7 is closer than any of us mere mortals realize saying that it, “could come within the next year” – far earlier than anyone has predicted.

Windows Vista security programs fail detection tests Security programs from well-known security firms have failed the VB100 (Virus Bulletin) tests for Vista specific security solutions.  The latest tests looked at 37 made-for Vista security programs to see which could attain the level of threat detection required for the “VB100″ certification.  Out of those tested, 17 managed to fail the test including software from big names like McAfee, Sophos and Trend Micro.
