Windows ME proves itself as worst against Vista and all others
By Jonathan Schlaffer
You voted, you have spoken and you voted Windows ME as the worst operating system of all time, against almost every other operating system made by Microsoft. Granted, I would have liked a few more voted but I’ll take it.
Windows ME was a horrible shoddy piece of work, wasn’t it? It crashed, it was unreliable, system restore didn’t work, it blue screened several times a day on a good day and you were lucky if the the thing even booted. What a piece of work.
At least Vista boots, doesn’t blue screen if it was preinstalled by the manufacturer (in most cases) and is fairly reliable. I suppose the only true failing of Vista is the failure of Microsoft to provide device vendors proper documentation so they could provide better drivers and the fact that it’s a tad resource heavy.
The minimum specs for Vista are a joke, if you think you can get buy with them, you are sorely mistaken and the whole Vista Capable lawsuit has left a bad taste in everyone’s mouth. If Microsoft could have just admitted its mistake, offered partial refunds, downgrade rights to XP, it might have actually saved money in the long run.
But that has no bearing on the functionality of the operating system. No one can really peg down the exact reason that it’s bogged down with sluggishness at times, DRM checking has been suggested but it’s not conclusive. Whatever it is, it’s most certainly not the worst operating system, that honor, once again, goes to Windows ME.
I promise this will be the last post on the Windows Vista vs Windows ME on the "which is worst" topic because I think that’s been solved.
Windows Vista walked away with 25% of the votes but Windows ME got 61% of the votes, everything else collectively got 11%. It seems that Windows ME is universally hated but that’s not necessarily the case for Vista, though it’s not great either.

Here is wrong statements about Vistas hardware requirements as XP:s was much higher compared to win98/ME which it replaced and the sorrow and cry was much greater bach then. XP to Vista jump is much smaller in requirements than 98 to XP.
So is the XP so great after all or was it back then when it was released? Simply answer is….No.

If Ballmer was running the show when Windows ME was released, we could have read the following in the news.
———————————————–
Windows ME is a work in progress, and the partners asked that the ME bashing would stop so that the migration to Windows ME would increase.
ME is here to stay so get used to it, Windows 98 SE will be discontinued , so everyone will migrate to Windows ME.
The problems with Windows ME and the blue screens of death are exaggerated, Windows ME has been a outstanding seller and adoption rates are projected to be on track next year.
