Vista SP1 trickles out over automatic updates today
If you haven’t installed Vista SP1 yet then you’re in luck, it has been released to automatic update today but don’t be surprised if it doesn’t show up right away, Microsoft has released it but it’s more of a trickle release than a gushing flow.
The only ones receiving the automatic update so far are English, French, German and Japanese Vista users, the others will come later but are available from Microsoft downloads; according to PC Magazine.
If you’ve left the default settings alone then Vista SP1 will download in the background and you will be notified when it is ready for installation; follow the prompts when it’s ready. Hopefully it’s smooth sailing for most users from here on out. Some Vista users may not be notified of the update due to driver or software conflicts that make their system ineligible for the SP1 update.
The process of getting SP1 out to every single Vista users (all three of you – I jest) will take a while so be patient while the updates are rolled out. If you aren’t that patient then you can still grab the manual update from Microsoft.
