Only 8% of corporate users satisfied with Vista
There are already enough individual users unhappy with Vista but so is the corporate world. It’s now looking like that Windows XP may have been Microsoft’s final good push before completely going down the tubes; so to speak. More corporate users are happy with Mac OSX Leopard than they are with Vista.
According to PCWorld, 2,200 corporate users were surveyed of which 53% responded that they were “very satisfied” with Mac OSX Leopard. Only 8% felt the same way about Vista but Windows XP made a decent showing with 40% of users saying they were “very satisfied” with it.
It seems that Microsoft has annoyed, angered and irritated just about every existing user they had. More users appear to be satisfied with Mac OSX than with Windows XP or Vista, even if the numbers are added together, Microsoft still falls behind the satisfaction rate of OSX.
Windows XP users have also been left out in the dark on Windows XP SP3, the final version is still not ready. Though, users are welcome to download Windows XP SP3 RC2 in the meantime. If you do install that version you will very likely have to uninstall it before installing the final version; the same was true of Vista SP1 beta and RC service packs.
As for Vista SP1, it’s not really what the doctor ordered, Mac OSX is far more responsive than Vista. With Windows XP being discontinued in June, some will have to find their way towards Vista or to an Apple Store to buy a shiny new Mac.

Numbers are slippery things. I’m no fan of Microsoft, but the article points out OSX users are 7% of the total. This is double from 5 years ago and shows Apples more accepted in Corp IT,
but pretty minuscule.
If you edit out the fanbois that would be satisfied with the case leaking vomit, it’s not very significant. Apple has not seen the need to be enterprise friendly. Life Cycle info, having service with 4 hour response time, Weak server lineup etc..This is not a slam on Apple, If they wanted to they could build up a completive enterprise business. It’s a lower profit, resource greedy part of the overall market. With almost no financial or accounting software and very little enterprise focused third party software, it’s not likely to change anytime soon.

What about Linux? It’s already in use in the corporate infrastructure and it is quickly nearing “prime-time” readiness.

Dude, if you run vista on an outdated machine… sure, your satisfaction will be that of screwing a 99 year old hag. Update your machines…. install vista… and then talk.
