Vista gets "prettier in pink" with OneCare bundle in Japan Those crazy Japanese are at it again.  Microsoft’s subsidiary in Japan decided to release a copy of Vista Home Premium bundled with Windows Live OneCare but with a twist; it comes in a nice pretty pink box ala Hello Kitty.

Hello Kitty doesn’t make an appearance (to my knowledge) on the box but it is almost the same shade of pink that would be associated with Hello Kitty.  Quite a few things scare me, insects with stingers, snakes, large rats and Hello Kitty; I can’t explain why.

Some people are just turned off by Vista after comparing it with my new MacBook Pro running OSX 10.5, I can honestly say that Vista is slower, less responsive and more of a resource hog than OSX is.

But, that’s not going to stop Microsoft from trying to flog its "flawed" operating system on people.  The last thing I would have expected any division of Microsoft to do is put it in a hot pink box and package it with Windows Live OneCare.  Packaging it with OneCare is a smart idea and the only reason Microsoft didn’t include it with Vista is because of anti-trust regulations.  Not that OneCare is so great but it’s better than nothing.

Cnet isn’t a fan of the hotpink package and neither am I.  Maybe if it came in a red box, or really any other color except olive drab, gray or a disgusting shade of yellow or orange.

Putting lipstick on the pig does not make it more attractive.
