It’s common knowledge that the entire computer/IT industry has been somewhat disappointed with Vista, be it the lack of drivers, hardware required to run it or general presence of bugs in the thing, it’s clear that Microsoft could and should have done better.

This of course, only applies if you are running 64-bit Vista on an Acer laptop and only if the BIOS has been updated for your specific motherboard, if both conditions are not met then do not attempt this.

It seems that some users (or a user) is having problems getting a card reader to work under a 64-bit Vista installation. The Acer laptop that is equipped with 2GB of memory will experience a BSOD (blue screen of death) almost every time the card reader is used.

Those of you with nVidia based graphic cards (the high-end kind, Geforce 6100/7100/7300 and anything below an 8600 series card need not bother) should see about installing some hotfixes if you are running Windows Vista.

There is a person out there that isn’t so happy with his experience on Leopard. He says that he gave it a chance but states that, “it’s pretty clear, this is not a good operating system release.”

All versions of Windows come with a sad and very old image editing program (if you can even call it that), Paint but a replacement is in the wind, it’s doubtful it will ever be included with Windows but thankfully for you and me Paint.NET can be downloaded for free.

Almost every user of Vista is gathered around the glow of their monitor, eagerly anticipating the release of SP1, any release of the service pack would be greatly accepted at this point. For a short time on Friday, it seemed that MSDN subscribers might get their hands on it.
