Free Vista Sunday, tune up your PC with Advanced Windows Care
By Jonathan Schlaffer
You finally decided to jump on the Vista bandwagon and after a few weeks or months using it, your PC has become slow and unresponsive to the point that you are about ready to trash it and buy a new one. Wait, don’t do it, let Iobit come to the rescue with Advanced Windows Care.
For those that don’t want to manage individual “repair” applications, Advanced Windows Care is your one stop shop for repairing performance issues with Vista or any version of Windows. It comes in several versions, a “personal” free version and a “professional” version.
Most should be happy with the free version but if you are willing to go the extra mile, professional will do a slightly better job.
To use the program, simply click the “Scan” button and then under the various sections click “Repair” or you can view the details and unselect items that you don’t want changed.
It will clean up junk files, delete erroneous registry entries, repair bad ones, delete junk files, optimize the system (be sure to read the details on that one) and erase your browsing history.
Note that it will identify any anomalous readings, even beneficial ones for those of you that have customized registry entries yourself.
If you haven’t bothered with that or simply don’t want the hassle, Advanced Windows Care personal is free (for personal use, obviously) and you are out nothing if it didn’t correct your problems (and if it didn’t then only reinstalling Windows will).
