Legit Windows Vista users can’t pass WGA check to download updates
By Ruben Francia
Several owners of the original version of Windows Vista who recently tried to download various patches can not get past the Genuine Validation check.
It seems there is some kind of unnecessary delay between sending and reading the validation message from Microsoft Web sites. Some users even waited for three hours only to find out that it was impossible to pass the (Windows Genuine Advange) WGA check.
The Inquirer claimed that from 8AM (Pacific time) October 7 to 4AM the next day it could not get past the WGA check, nor download the file containing the updates.
If only all updates were supplied through the automatic Windows Update facility, then Vista users would never have to face this unhelpful scenario. After all, legitimate Windows Vista users should be able to pass WGA checks without unnecessary delays.
We hope this is just a temporary glitch and that by the time you read this everything is back to normal.
