Two (possible) SP1 updates released for Vista

By Jonathan Schlaffer

Two (possible) SP1 updates released for Vista This week, Microsoft quietly released Vista SP1 Pre-Betas (or Betas) to testers.  These betas consist of two separate updates that are available now and might see possible deployment in the final version of the service pack.

The company will still deny any rumors regarding SP1 for Vista or even if these updates will see use in SP1.  However, Microsoft did say that the two updates will be released through Automatic Update “in the near future.”  But they can be downloaded manually right now.

Many sites believe that could be as early as next week because next Tuesday is patch Tuesday when Microsoft releases regular product updates.

The two updates are designed to improve “reliability and compatibility” and address “performance” issues in Vista.  However, if you are not patient enough to wait for next week to roll around, the updates are available for immediate download from Microsoft.  Find them here and here, validation is required.
