New Vista hack requires no serial key
It was only a matter of time before Vista was even more effectively hacked. Hacks to get Vista activated have been cropping up ever since it released, there have been a number of hacks to this point, one of the most famous being the BIOS crack but now something more insidious has come along.
Gizmodo is running a story about a hacker group known as NoPE which claims to have created a Vista installation DVD that requires no hack, no serial key and no bypassing, it simply activates, works and goes about updating right after the install.
This is very similar to those corporate editions of Windows XP that almost anyone could buy, years ago, the easiest source for most would have been a college book store where a corporate copy of Windows XP Professional could be had for as little as $15 in my case. Of course, this is no longer true for XP or Vista as the “golden age†has passed.
If the hack is real only one question remains, what will the all seeing eye of Microsoft do to counter this threat to its superiority. There is no doubt in my mind that the crack programming wizards within the Redmond compound are already working on the problem, it is only a matter of time before all these “hacked†versions of Vista break all of a sudden and demand a serial key.
How long will it be, I don’t know, could be days, weeks, months or even years but if I had to bet or stake my reputation on it, I would say that Microsoft will have this beat before the year is over and then it will be the hacker’s turn.
This game between Microsoft and the hackers “union†will never end, there will never be a winner just who can stay on top longer.

I don’t think you understand much of what is going on here, if you literally remove the components that are involved in activation and license management from the installation files, it isn’t going to suddenly come back and ask for a serial key because that component would no longer be present.

If it’s that easy, why don’t you remove the components that are involved in activation and license management from the installation files while keeping Vista working and able to install correctly? That’s like saying it’s easy to rob any car, you just have to remove the ignition and it won’t ever require you to insert any key. Even if that would work, for Microsoft it’s as easy as checking every Windows for the presence (or not) of these components upon the next Windows Update and disable those who have these files missing.

As long as greedy oil loving American MicroShite overprices its products the pirates will always be there and good on them. If they made just ONE Vista edition (Ultimate) available and priced it at $99 then 99% of the pirates would not bother cracking it. SIMPLE!

well said phudi. i couldn’t agree more. price it at 99 dollars and everyone would buy it including those who did not feel like upgrading at the moment. microsoft is very greedy as we all know. and to those vista haters out there… if you are too stupid to install and configure a stable os properly then don’t go slagging vista off just because you don’t know what you are doing noob! vista is stable and good. microsoft is unstable and shit! phudi my indian friend says if you are what your name is then you could accommodate my wudah motah lula whatever that is. regards all.
