Microsoft updates Windows Vista Media Center

Microsoft updates Windows Vista Media CenterMicrosoft has released the April 2007 Cumulative Update for Windows Vista Media Center, which resolves several issues and contains several improvements, for computers that are running Windows Vista Home Premium or Windows Vista Ultimate.

Among others, the update provides hotfixes replacement for Windows Media Center that does not correctly configure a combo TV tuner that supports both ATSC and NTSC signals on a Windows Vista-based computer, and the halt of video playback when resizing the Windows Media Center window.

The update likewise resolves the following issues:

  • The video freeze issue when the movie begins in some DVDs;
  • Picture rotating issue during a slide show;
  • The appearance of the cover art for recorded TV movies in the DVD library view;
  • Errors received when deleting a picture in Windows Media Center; and
  • Error received when trying to pay a DVD using Autoplay.

The Online Media feature in Media Center has additionally been improved with caching, and is now supported on 64-bit versions of Vista. Video Playlist support has also been added for Windows Media Center Extenders.

The April 2007 Cumulative Update for Windows Media Center for x32 and x64-based Systems are available for download now from the Microsoft Support site or from the Windows Download Center.

This update is being delivered as a Recommended update.
