AVG Internet Security 7.5 offers comprehensive protection for Windows Vista
By Ruben Francia
GRISOFT, the developer of AVG Internet security software, today announced an update to its AVG Internet Security solution, which offers comprehensive protection for Windows Vista.
Its new redesigned firewall component is one of the first to take advantage of the entire network filtering benefits offered by Microsoft’s new Windows Filtering Platform (WFP), the company claimed.
While Microsoft claimed that Windows Vista security is far better that Windows XP security, one cannot deny that Vista is still Windows with organic weaknesses.
The firewall in Microsoft’s Windows XP is inadequate. It does not block outbound transmissions.
Vista’s built-in firewall on the other hand will hide your computer. And theoretically, it can bar outbound transmissions if something gets on your computer. But it is very difficult to configure and requires some level of technical knowledge.
With the simple and unified user interface combine for antivirus, anti-spyware, firewall and anti-spam defences, AVG Internet Security 7.5 offers Vista users comprehensive protective tools to safeguard computers and sensitive data.
AVG Internet Security also offers workstation protection in small and medium-sized businesses through remote administration tools.
“Our developers had been working with Microsoft prior to the Vista launch to ensure product compatibility throughout the new security infrastructure, and to design the best user experience possible,†explains Larry Bridwell, Global Security Strategist at AVG. “We are excited to offer another AVG security product to protect Windows Vista PCs against a broad portfolio of Internet threats, including targeted and untargeted hacker attacks.â€
AVG Internet Security 7.5 for Microsoft Vista is immediately available on the GRISOFT website, www.grisoft.com, and via its extensive network of channel sales partners located throughout the world. AVG Anti-Virus Professional Edition and AVG Anti-Malware have already been available for Windows Vista.
