Microsoft launches Vista-friendly keyboard and mouse set
Are you ready to bring your Windows Vista PC-based experience to the next level? You can do it with the stylish new keyboard and mouse combination that includes a popular comfort curve keyboard design, a high definition laser mouse, and one-touch access to Windows Vista and Windows Live features.
Microsoft hardware group is targeting new Vista owners with the launch of Microsoft Wireless Laser Desktop 4000, a new wireless keyboard and mouse set with special features designed to help you better use Vista.
“The Wireless Laser Desktop 4000 is the latest in our growing line of products optimized for Windows Vista and illustrates how we continue to diversify our product line to meet a broad range of consumers’ desktops needs,†said Sean Butterworth, product marketing manager for Microsoft Hardware.
The comfort curve designed keyboard sports a Windows Start Button, which activates the Windows Start menu to allow users to search for or access documents and a Zoom key, which enables users to zoom in and out of digital graphics.
It also has a Windows Gadget Button and a Windows LiveCall Button to provide one-touch access to information such as weather, news, stocks quotes and to start an instant video/messaging conference session, respectively.
The laser mouse includes a magnifier tool that enlarges any section of the screen and an Instant Viewer tool to view all open windows at once.
Butterworth said, “We are excited to continue delivering the best hardware products to complement the dynamic computing experience of the new operating system.â€
Recent reports tell us that Windows Vista failed to boost the PC-base sales. I wonder if the Wireless Laser Desktop 4000Â will help make Vista just that little more compelling, though I doubt it.Â

It’s too bad it doesn’t have a quick launch key for Flip 3D which is currently handled by Windows + Tab or Ctrl + Windows + Tab if you want it to stay on the screen. To me (since I have many applications open) this would have been the most useful key they could have added.
I don’t really like Alt + TAb either. Hmmmm… let’s see if Logitech can one up them.

Vista will eventually boost the PC-base sales sooner or later, it was just released not even 3 months ago, it’s still early. And I don’t really care if the Wireless Laser Desktop 4000 will help make Vista just that little more compelling or not, because IMHO it is enough compelling already.
